In doing so, the Twins have brought creatures through the portal called Nethers, controlled by a leader named Mr. Eye.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the game, the player mainly controls Ratchet, using an array of weapons and gadgets familiar to the series, but also some newer ones as well. Ratchet is aided in his movement by Clank using the Heli Pack to propel himself forward, or to hover safely to the ground. It can later be upgraded to a Jetpack.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn certain portions of the game, the player takes control of Clank in side scroller-esque trips though the Netherverse. In these sections, Clank must manipulate gravity and solve puzzles to get the Nether back to the portal in order to cause an “earthquake” and destroy the barrier blocking the duo's way.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRatchet levels up as he defeats enemies and gains more health points. Weapons can be upgraded by normal use (automatically collecting nanomites from fallen enemies) and by using Raritanium (a rare mineral found in the universe).
