Part of the first permanent video game collection at the Smithsonian, experience award-winning Flower, now available on PC. Flower lets you take control of the wind as you explore and navigate beautiful, lush environments. Journey through varied landscapes at your own pace, interacting with and changing the environment as you go, and find balance and harmony in your surroundings.

This is an interactive escape that takes you on an emotional journey like no other game you've ever experienced.

Key Features:

• Simple Gameplay Controls & Controlling the game is as simple as guiding the wind in the direction you want to go.

• Lush and Interactive Environments & Vast grassy fields, blowing in the breeze, create a lush, immersive environment.

• Immersive and Emotional & Accessible to gamers and non-gamers alike, the game takes players on an incredibly personal and emotional experience.

Flower is a single-player experimental rhythm-action and exploration game that places the player in a dreamlike vision of nature. Each stage begins in a quiet apartment room where a wilted flower sits on a table. Selecting a flower transports the player into its dream, where a single petal is carried by the wind across open fields, valleys, and urban ruins. The goal of each dream is to restore vitality and color to the environment by awakening other flowers.

Movement is controlled by directing the wind itself. The petal follows the breeze as the player tilts the controller or analog stick, with a button press used to accelerate. Flying close to a flower causes it to bloom and release another petal, which joins the chain. Over time the single petal becomes a flowing ribbon of color, trailing across the landscape. As more flowers are revived, entire fields burst into bloom, unlocking new paths and progressing the stage toward completion.

The game does not employ traditional enemies or fail states. Instead, it emphasizes relaxation, discovery, and the sensation of movement. Obstacles, such as strong winds, barren terrain, or lifeless metal structures, contrast with the vibrant areas the player restores. Later stages introduce darker environments and mild hazards such as electrical currents, but even these moments remain focused on atmosphere rather than challenge.

Progression is stage-based, with each flower in the apartment representing a level. Each level presents different landscapes and themes, from rolling meadows and hills to night scenes illuminated by glowing plants, to urban areas where nature pushes back against steel and concrete. The visual design emphasizes contrast: drab or lifeless settings gradually transform into lush, colorful environments as the player's actions bring renewal. The soundtrack dynamically adapts to gameplay, with each flower adding new musical notes that blend into the stage's background score. While there are objectives to complete, the game allows for unhurried exploration, letting players drift across the scenery at their own pace.

Later re-releases introduced technical improvements, such as higher resolutions, enhanced lighting, and new control options for different platforms.
