This sequel to The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel picks up a few months later. It begins with Rean waking up from a coma - then he decides to travel the continent in search of his friends.

The gameplay this time around features mech battles, and you get to pilot an airship halfway through. This allows you to travel wherever you wish, which makes it a far less linear experience. Also, you can level up orbment slots in order to equip more powerful orbs for your characters. Other than those points, the gameplay is pretty much the same as the first.
