Wednesday 20th January/...Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of Square Enix® interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today announces FRONT MISSION® EVOLVED®, developed by Double Helix Games, will be available on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows® PC in Spring 2010.
The first of its kind in the series, FRONT MISSION EVOLVED is an action-packed Third-Person Shooter and the next instalment in the classic FRONT MISSION franchise. Players will take full control of the Wanzer, a massive humanoid, fully customizable war machine, in single player campaign and online multi-player.
Featuring Hollywood style production values and a totally immersive storyline, players are thrust deep into a swirl of destruction, conspiracy and crumbling alliances, and battle through intense combat situations as man strives to create the ultimate humanoid fighting machine in a war against terror.

Story:
In the future, the world is a changed place. Technology has advanced. Countries have merged into massive geopolitical blocks. But one thing, sadly, remains the same - humanity's appetite for war. When a terrorist attack destroys one of the U.C.S.'s prized orbital elevators, the military is mobilised to eliminate the threat.

o When done trashing enemies in-game, a whole new world of online play awaits. Players can go it alone or in teams, testing their skills in battle against other players with their own, highly customized wanzers.
Unlike its predecessors, Front Mission Evolved is a third-person shooter instead of a strategy game. The player takes the role of Dylan Ramsey, who is a mech robot technician. When terrorists attack New York, he takes control over one of them to rescue his father. During the course of the game he meets allies which (autonomously) fight on his side in most missions.
In contrast to other mech based games the robots found in this game are agile: they can jump and dodge. The gameplay itself is very straight forward: Walking through linear levels while destroying every opposition. The only exception are on-foot missions in which the player has to infiltrate buildings. Ammo and armor are limited and don't refill themselves, but the player can walk over boxes for refreshments. The E.D.G.E. defense system acts like a regular bullet time mode: it can't be used indefinitely, slows down time and cuts down taken damage.
Between missions the player can buy new weapons or equipment and change the look of the mech.

Damages and issues
