The Story of Stubbs

In 1933, Edward "Stubbs" Stubblefield was just another traveling salesman trying to eke out a living. Only one thing stood between him and success: an unbroken streak of bad luck dating back to his birth. Stubbs couldn't sell ice cream in the Sahara - and he sure couldn't sell life insurance during the darkest days of the Great Depression. Speaking of depression, Stubbs' miserable life came to its logical conclusion one hot summer night when a prospective customer unloaded a shotgun into Stubbs' belly and buried him in an unmarked grave in the remote Pennsylvania countryside.

Now it's 1959 and that same countryside is covered by the steel and plastic wonderland that is Punchbowl, Pennsylvania. Punchbowl is the brainchild of billionaire playboy industrialist Andrew Monday, whose rise from poor orphan to World's Richest Man has captivated the globe. Using experimental technology developed by the brilliant minds at Monday Industries, Monday has created a fully realized city just like the ones people will inhabit in the year 2000, when everyone will drive floating cars and robot labor will eliminate all drudgery. Now he has thrown open the gates for a gala opening party and invited the world to see his vision of the future.

At the same time, something stirs beneath Punchbowl... an ex-traveling salesman about to embark on a new career as a brain-eating zombie.

At last, Stubbs has found his calling.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is a 3D action game that turns the tables on the age old tradition of zombie games. In this game, you play as the zombie, fight off the humans, and eat their brains. Stubbs the Zombie is set in a retro-futuristic city of the future and follows Stubbs over the course of one day as he zombifies the entire city.

Before becoming a zombie Edward 'Stubbs' Stubblefield was a traveling salesman in the 1930s who got himself killed. Flash forward to 1959 where the world's richest man, Andrew Monday, has built his dream city, Punchbowl Pennsylvania, on top of poor Stubbs' grave. Stubbs will have to claw through all of Punchbowl's citizens, including the local police department, crazy militiamen, nerdy scientists, and a deadly barbershop quartet.

Luckily Stubbs has some help. Every human that he kills comes back as a zombie and joins Stubbs in his quest for brains. Stubbs also learns a series of special body powers. He can use his unholy flatulence to stun enemies, he can throw his pancreas as an exploding zombie grenade, and he can detach his own head and bowl it into enemies. Stubbs' most powerful ability is that he can detach his hand and use it as a scout, climbing up walls and the ceiling, and then use it to take control of enemy humans and their weapons.
