LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Time Warner Interactive, Inc., Games Division today announced at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show a March 1995 roll out of its new "Kawasaki(R) SuperBike Challenge(TM)" line of motorcycle racing games for the Sega(TM) Genesis(TM), Super Nintendo Entertainment System(R), and Game Gear(TM) systems. The company is previewing the Sega Genesis version at the St. Tropez Hotel in suite #2903. Kawasaki is legendary in the sport of motorcycle racing and "Kawasaki SuperBike Challenge" is shaping up to be the fastest and most realistic motorcycle racing game ever developed for home entertainment thrill-seekers. Built upon Domark's acclaimed Formula One(TM) engine, "Kawasaki SuperBike Challenge" surpasses, with increased speed, enhanced graphics, and a first-person-perspective driving experience that feels like real motorcycle racing.

Go solo, race with a buddy in 2-player mode, or face off with a computer opponent. Feeling really hot? Race in "Turbo" for an all out show-down at the fastest speeds.

Pick your poison. There are 14 real international racing circuits from which to choose. There's Monza, Italy; considered a lightning fast circuit by the pros. They'll also tell you the key to this race is in the Parabolic corner; get this right and you will reach fantastic speeds for a winning time. Or try Sweden's Anderstorp track. It sports a good mix of fast straights and tight corners that present plenty of overtaking opportunities for the observant rider. Britain, Spain, Australia and more, they're all yours for the racing. No matter where you choose to race, you'll want to work on strategy. Check out the track terrain and layout; a tight sequence of turns might change your mind on high gear ratios. Kawasaki Superbike Challenge is a motorcycle racing game that uses the same engine as F1. It includes 14 standard-length race tracks, plus the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race, available in both training and Championship modes. The game is unlicensed (except by Kawasaki), so all riders and teams are fictional.

The game now has more polygonal roadside objects than F1, and there is still a Turbo mode, allowing for faster racing at the expense of some of the detail. You have the ability to turn on or off weather (during rainy days the graphics are darker and the bike has less traction). The number of laps on each course can be 5, 10 or 15, and there are 4 skill levels. Some changes have been made to how the vehicle handles, to emphasize the switch from cars to bikes.
