FOX INTERACTIVE SIGNS THE CRYSTAL METHOD TO FUEL N20 VIDEO

GAME SOUNDTRACK

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 15, 1998) -- Bringing the interactive experience into an amazing new realm of total entertainment, Fox Interactive has signed premier U.S. electronica music sensation The Crystal Method to provide the first-ever complete soundtrack for its all-new futuristic, high-tech video game N20: NITROUS OXIDE available for PlayStation in June 1998.

The LA-based duo, world-famous among Gen X'ers for their hard-driving break-beat dance music, will provide original and selected remix versions of their hit songs "Busy Child," "Keep Hope Alive," "Now Is The Time," "Trip Like I Do," "Vapor Trail," "She's My Pusher," "Cherry Twist" and "Comin' Back" -- comprising ten separate music tracks on the N20 disc. Fans will be able to select any or all of the songs to play continuously and in any order they choose while engaging in this completely-original visually-stunning, 3D space adventure.

"We couldn't ask for a better fit combining N20's spectacular 3D graphics and cutting-edge gameplay with songs by The Crystal Method, by far the hottest act on the electronica music scene today," said Jon Richmond, president, Fox Interactive. "These combined elements create a completely captivating and exhilarating gaming experience that clearly puts N20 in a class by itself."

"The Crystal Method and N20 are the perfect match in terms of innovation and attitude," said Andy Gershon, partner in Outpost Recordings, The Crystal Method's record label. "The best in electronica music and the best in interactive entertainment now come together in an association that's practically tailor made."

Available on PlayStation nationwide in June 1998 from Fox Interactive, N20: Nitrous Oxide is a 3-D interstellar space-race shooter that showers players with an electrified tsunami of light, color and sound. This futuristic saga catapults players into a constantly morphing psychedelic dimension, filled with flashing lightwaves and shifting color patterns. There an evil race of bug-like warriors is breeding inside a tubular interplanetary freeway, filled with N20 gas. Players speed through the tunnels in N20 fueled spacecraft, collecting points and building an arsenal of laser weapons in their quest to obliterate the demonic species.

Currently on a sold-out European tour, Outpost/Geffen recording artists The Crystal Method expand the boundaries of the blooming electronica dance music genre with confrontational keyboard melodies and infectious, funk-fortified beats. Their current album, Vegas, has been heralded by critics worldwide, spawning three hit singles and gracing BILLBOARD's Hot 200 album charts for more than 22 weeks.

Recognized as an innovative industry leader, Fox Interactive, an operating unit of Fox Filmed Entertainment, a News Corporation company, is committed to developing a full range of bold and engaging interactive entertainment. Fox Interactive products are distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Check out Fox Interactive online at www.foxinteractive.com.

N2O Nitrous Oxide's gameplay is in many ways similar to the arcade classic Tempest. The game involves flying a ship down a tunnel. You can move left and right along the tunnel's walls, and fire into the tunnel. You have a standard blaster, and can pick up a range of special weapons along the way. You also can pick up a 'smart bomb' type weapon, that launches a firewall down the tunnel.

Enemies are all based on real world insects, and range from flies, though to mosquitos, scorpions and spiders. Each tunnel introduces one new enemy. After each tunnel has been cleared you have to defeat a larger version of that tunnel's new enemy before you can leave.

Mushrooms can be collected off the tunnel walls. Once you have collected the required amount, you can enter a bonus level. These consist of open tunnels, containing two items: eggs, and spinning blades. The objective is to avoid the blades, and shoot as many eggs as you can. When you shoot an egg you get points, however the ship also speeds up making it harder to avoid the blades.

At the end of the game there is a final mutant boss insect to defeat.
